10 Reasons To Not Accept Paypal with Kartra
Kartra enables you to use five different kinds of payment processors, Stripe, Square, Paypal, Braintree, and Authorize .net. Read more about different payment processors on Kartra here -
I prefer, use, and recommend Stripe for all transactions and recommend avoiding Paypal for accepting transactions if at all possible. Here’s my top 10 reasons why.
(Presented in David Letterman style)
10. Bump offers do not accept Paypal.
9. You cannot accept coupons with Paypal on payments that have multiple payment features (and if you do it locks the discounted rate permanently).
You can use a coupon for a single payment product.
8. You cannot offer Recurring Installments with Paypal.
7. You cannot adjust any payment information on behalf of your clients (Example: Kelly needs an extra week to pay… you’d like to extend her payment date…).
6. Paypal has been known to hold large sums of money from clients for months at a time and place limits on users accounts. SOURCE, SOURCE
5. Chargeback fees. (Not fees, fees are a part of doing business, that’s a whole other story)
4. I’ve seen Paypal shut down users accounts with no warning. SOURCE
3. Paypal buyers are more likely to buy and dispute just to get their money back rather than speaking with the business
2. It’s a choppy transaction. When buyers check out they have to transfer to Paypal and then transfer back. The more jumps the higher the rate of loss.
1. Paypal is notorious for always siding with the customer without even checking with the business, if there is a dispute, regardless of the terms of the transaction.
*Paypal is really great for other things including Affiliate payments.
