Active/Inactive/Blacklisted Leads in Kartra

Kartra will assign your leads one of three “statuses”

🟢Active - Leads that are on a list or in a sequence
🟡Inactive - Someone who is not on a list or in a sequence - this could be because they were not initially subscribed to a list or sequence, or they have unsubscribed from the list or sequences. IMPORTANT - please respect people’s preferences and don’t send emails to people who have unsubscribed from a list.
🔴Backlisted - Leads that are known spam traps or are accounts that no longer exist. This could also be people who marked your email as spam (how audacious!) Or someone Kartra feels is a spam likley account. If you feel someone is blacklisted that should not be, submit a ticket to Kartra and ask them to investigate. You can open a support ticket to do so. If the red circle has an exclamation mark, it means the lead has been blacklisted.

Understanding the color circle on a lead is important for efficient email marketing campaigns. A green circle indicates that the lead is on a list, while a red circle means they are not on a list or are inactive. If the red circle has an exclamation mark, it means the lead has been blacklisted.

Active and Inactive Leads in Kartra

Active leads are those on a list, while inactive ones are not. Blacklisted leads are spam traps or accounts that no longer exist, or people who marked your email as spam. It is important to check your list often and review blacklisted, hard-bounced, and inactive users. Inactive users may just need to be added to a list.

When dealing with blacklisted leads, it is best review the list and determine if there are any typos, and if the can be corrected.

Blacklisted Lead in Kartra

Occasionally, valid email addresses may hard bounce due to a typo, such as @aol.con, @gmali.com, @hootmail.com, or @college.edi. In such cases, the lead should be opted in for what they originally signed up for, or they can be emailed again and asked to try without the typo.

If you need to correct any detectable spelling errors you will need to submit those leads to Kartra to review and whitelist.

 
 
 
 

My suggestion is to review this list monthly - submit any leads to review to Kartra, and remove/delete any spam leads. I ALSO SUGGEST NOT removing people who have made purchases from you or who have access to any of your memberships.

There are several free or low-cost list cleaning tools available, such as Debounce.io and MailGun. It is important to keep the email list clean and up-to-date to ensure the success of email marketing campaigns. Regularly reviewing the list and removing inactive or blacklisted leads can help achieve this goal.
