Blocked Leads in Kartra Gets a HUGE Update

New Statuses in Kartra Leads

Your Kartra leads area just got a HUGE makeover that is jam packed with MORE information than ever before. But first, let’s talk about the new terms:

  • 🟩 - Green - Subscribed (they are on at least one list or in one sequence)

  • 🩶 - Gray - Unsubscribed (they are on no lists or sequences - this could be because they unsubscribed, or were never subscribed)

  • ❤️ - Red - Blocklisted. They could be blocked for many reasons - more on that in a bit. You can hover over the colored marker to learn more.

Now about those Blocklisted Statuses - there are four of them now: Blocklisted (a combo of all the blocklisted leads), Spam Complaint, Declined GDPR/CCPA, and Do Not Contact.

  • Blocklisted - someone who is generally undeliverable - this could be because an email address is misspelled, does not exist or could be a risky person to email.

  • Spam Complaint - someone who clicked and marked a message they got from you as spam. Because of this, you cannot send to them any longer.

  • Declined GDPR/CCPA - they did not approve GDPR/CCPA and you cannot send them MARKETING messages. You can still send them transactional messages.

  • Do Not Contact - People who chose “do not contact.”

This is going to be a very powerful tool and metric for monitoring when it comes to cleaning your list. I generally suggest removing people who are inactive UNLESS they have a purchase/active subscription from you or have access to a paid membership area.

You will also be able to see these numbers when you go to configure an email broadcast. I am personally thrilled that this number is no longer a guessing game of who is blocked and why.

It’s a small image but this shows
0 Do Not Contact
0 Spam Complaint
18 Declined GDPR/CCPA
3 Blocklisted

Updated Broadcast and Sequence Analytics

  • Recipients - # of people the email was sent to

  • Spam - # or % of people who clicked that this message was spam (from the Kartra Update Subscription Page - linked at the bottom of every email you send from Kartra)

  • Bounces - NEW - Undeliverable emails

  • <<To figure your deliverability subtract Bounces from Recipients>>

  • Unsubs. - # or % of people who unsubscribed from the list or sequence from this message (and includes Do Not Contact) AND Delete me from your database

  • Opens - # or % of people who opened - Opens are traditionally unreliable due to privacy rules. TIP - check your open rates IMMEDIATELY after a send then deduct this from the final or leveled out open rate for a more accurate picture of what your open rates look like.

  • Clicks - # or % of people who clicked any link in the email

  • Goals - # or % of people who opted in or purchased - the goal cannot be set. I typically ignore this column.

  • Revenue - $ earned after clicking through from the email

  • Date - when you sent it (in your time zone)

This is what people see when they click the “Unsubscribe Edit Your Details” link that is included automatically from your Kartra Emails.

They can see their information and change it, they can also see the Lists/Sequences/Calendars they are subscribed to and they have the ability to unsubscribe from those things.

They can also choose “do not contact” or to be deleted from the database here. It is important to know that if someone deletes themselves from the database it will NOT stop any subscriptions they have or issue any refunds. It’s also worth saying that unsubscribing from a list will not remove someone’s recurring subscriptions.

When someone unsubscribes from a sequence/list/calendar they are asked if this was spam. That’s where your spam count is coming from.
