Kartra Multi-Factor Authentication

On February 22, 2024 Kartra rolled out a Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) step to logging in your Kartra Account.

What this does is send a unique code to the email address associated with your Kartra account to verify that it is indeed you logging in to your account. Even if someone else were to have your password they wouldn’t be able to login to your account without your additional layer of consent.

In my testing I received my access code almost instantly.

This code is sent to the email address that is in your profile in your Kartra Account.

At this time this feature does not have a setting to disable it, but there is a “Trust This Device” option where you can set it to remember your device.

I clicked this on my end and I’ve only had to reverify if I logged in from an incognito window.

If you are having team members login to your account as you. This could be troublesome.

My strong recommendation here would be to set up each team member as a registered team member with their own unique login to your account.

MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) has many benefits

• added layer of security

• reduction in unauthorized access

• keeps your account super safe

• meets many compliance standards (like HIPPA)

Using The Team Members Feature In Kartra has many benefits too:

• you control exactly what each person has access to

• you can control if they ever need to have their access revoked

• you can also see exactly what they are doing in your account

• you can see when they are logged into your account

• you can see if you both are working on the same asset at the same time
